COPPA Policy

Effective: April 20, 2026 · FTC COPPA 2025 Amendments Compliant

Our Commitment

PRYZE™ was built with child safety as an architectural constraint, not an afterthought. We designed our data collection and platform access systems to be COPPA-compliant from day one — before collecting a single record from any athlete under 13. The FTC's 2025 COPPA Rule amendments (effective June 23, 2025) govern all PRYZE™ operations for users under 13 with no grandfathering provisions, and we comply fully.

What Is COPPA?

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) restricts online collection of personal information from children under 13. Under COPPA, companies must obtain verifiable parental consent (VPC) before collecting, using, or sharing any personal information from children under 13. The FTC enforces COPPA with penalties up to $51,744 per violation per day.

Our Verifiable Parental Consent (VPC) Process

When an athlete indicates they are under 13 during registration, our platform:

1.

Immediately gates all data collection — no personal information is stored before consent

2.

Collects only the parent/guardian email address, and only to facilitate the consent process

3.

Sends a clear, plain-language consent request to the parent describing PRYZE™, what we collect, how we use it, and what we will not do with it

4.

Requires a single affirmative click from the parent to approve — no ambiguous opt-outs

5.

Stores the consent record with timestamp and document hash for audit purposes

6.

Only then activates the athlete's profile and collects the approved data

7.

Never sends marketing emails to parents or athletes under 13

What We Collect From Under-13 Athletes (After Consent)

First name, last name, sport, school name, graduation year, and U.S. state. We do not collect: last name alone, home address, phone number, social security number, photos or videos (except parent-uploaded highlight videos, which require separate consent), geolocation data, or persistent device identifiers.

Parent Rights

At any time, parents may: review all information collected about their child, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of all information, withdraw consent and have all data deleted within 30 days. To exercise any right, email info@25alpha.ai. We respond within 5 business days. We never condition participation on waiving any parent right.
